Early this morning, Mario Gila underwent instrumental tests after suffering an injury yesterday during the friendly match against Celtic in Glasgow. The Spanish defender was forced off just 20 minutes after coming on due to a muscular issue, which was clarified today.
Gila only suffered a muscle strain, with no injury detected
According to the latest results, Gila has suffered a strain to the right rectus femoris muscle. The tests carried out ruled out any lesions, meaning the former Lazio defender is expected to be sidelined only for a short period.
The initial feelings were already positive after the match, with Ruben Amorim also providing reassurance in his post-match comments: "I think it’s nothing serious."
