Giuseppe Marotta, Inter's executive, expressed himself in this way during the presentation of Beppe Severgnini's book about the new stadium:
"It is important for a team and a club to have a stadium because it is the second home of that team, not just for matches but also to branch out into various fields, perhaps even cultural ones. The need is there. Italian bureaucracy slows down initiatives and drives investors away... And this has already happened in several cities."

Marotta continued to talk about the stadium issue:
"In my opinion, stadiums should fall under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Infrastructure because they are of national significance, and this would help avoid many unnecessary steps. Today, Milan and Inter are committed to building the stadium, and recent agreements lean toward the San Siro site. The key is to overcome these bureaucratic obstacles. The Mayor (Sala) is working very positively on this, and I am confident the problem can be resolved."
