In recent days, more precisely on Tuesday, an investigation was launched for auction interference and disclosure of official secrets in connection with the sale of San Siro by the City of Milan to the clubs Milan and Inter.
At present, nine people are registered as suspects in the Milan Prosecutor’s office. Among them is also the general director of Palazzo Marino, Christian Malangone. Defending him is lawyer Domenico Aiello, who issued a statement with his client’s official position.
The note from Malangone’s defence lawyer reads: "This investigation will very soon reach a definite goal, perhaps the practical reason for an investigative action that only followed the completion of the purchase of the areas. Regardless of the outcome of a probable trial, which will arrive leisurely in a few years, the investors will withdraw, consider whether to sue the City for damages, and the citizens of Milan and its renowned football clubs will not have a new stadium within the planned timeframe," as relayed via Milan News.
