Alessandro Giudice, Italian journalist, made some statements on the social channels of 'Numero Diez' during the usual 'Goal Finance' segment, explaining some behind-the-scenes details of the deal between Milan and Joshua Zirkzee's agent, Kia Joorabchian.
Here are his words on the matter, as relayed via Milan News:
"It seems that Milan wants to acquire the player by exercising the 40 million clause. But the obstacle to closing the deal appears to be the player's agent's request for a commission worth 15 million euros, which Milan currently considers too high. So the deal might fall through. However, when it comes to agent commissions, which are often vilified, one must keep something in mind. FIFA has imposed a cap on agent commissions and has also banned so-called dual representation, meaning an agent cannot represent multiple parties in the same transaction. But these regulations are still circumvented because as the contract expiry approaches, the player and his agent remain sovereign."
He continued to talk about the commission issue between Milan and Joshua Zirkzee:
"What fans need to understand is that it is not always the agent but very often the player who participates in this kind of fee-sharing because he exercises contractual power given by the contract's expiration."
