Milan are clearly in a goal-scoring crisis, and have been for some time: in the last four matches, that is over the past month, the Rossoneri have scored just one goal, the one that secured victory away at Hellas Verona, netted by Adrien Rabiot. For the rest, the forwards of the Diavolo have been completely blunt. The last attacking player to score was Rafa Leão, on 1 March, that is two months ago. Pulisic has not scored since December, Nkunku and Füllkrug since January, and Giménez since September in the cup and for almost a year in the league.
Ahead of this afternoon’s 3 p.m. match against Sassuolo, Corriere dello Sport addressed the issue, framing it around the likely choices Massimiliano Allegri will make for his starting eleven. CorSport wrote this morning:
"Goal crisis. Nkunku in, Pulisic out. The team’s scoring touch must be reignited, Max heading towards this choice."
The subheading goes into further detail: "Christian scoreless in 2026, he will make way for the Frenchman. The goals-per-game average in the last nine matches has dropped from 1.64 to 0.79.”
