Despite the fact that Milan must complete some sales before returning to spend in the transfer market, the Rossoneri club continues to monitor several potential incoming deals that will have to be completed during the final month of the summer transfer window, once the right conditions are created. In this regard, one of the necessary additions for the club appears to be a new attacking midfielder, a role that is crucial for Ruben Amorim and currently occupied only by Pulisic, Nkunku, Leao and Loftus-Cheek.
Milan need to increase the number of options available to Ruben Amorim, especially considering that both Rafael Leao and Loftus-Cheek could leave. There are currently a couple of youngsters filling the gap, but it is difficult to imagine them taking on such an important role immediately. For this reason, the club is closely studying a potential signing for the attacking midfield position.
The Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport has mentioned several names. The latest candidate, in chronological order, is 2007-born Ethan Nwaneri of Arsenal, although the Gunners are setting a very high asking price of €50 million. The possibility of signing Matias Soulé from Roma remains alive, as does the opportunity to bring in Franco Mastantuono from Real Madrid. Another option from the Spanish capital could be a sensational return for Brahim Diaz, although that could be more of a solution towards the end of August.
