"Cisse is favourite over Loftus-Cheek"
After starting on the bench against Juventus, Alphadjo Cisse is expected to return to the starting XI against Lazio, operating as the left attacking midfielder. The Italian playmaker is expected to win the battle for a starting spot with Ruben Loftus-Cheek and will play behind Gonçalo Ramos alongside Adrien Rabiot.
Ruben Amorim also spoke about Cissé at his press conference yesterday. Asked about reports linking the attacking midfielder with a call-up to the senior Italy national team, he said: "Cisse, if he played for the national team, would be free, he’s ready. But at the same time, we need to give him more time to aid his development. I’ve already noticed a difference between his home and away performances. Playing at San Siro is tough, give him time. But if you put him in the national team, he won’t be shy, he’ll play. But give him time to become the player he can become."
